It's not easy to get disability. The process can be long and difficult. 18 months if your paperwork is in order and you have a qualifying illness. The lawyers only do what most people could do for themselves (fill out the forms) and then charge the person for the "service".

Being disabled doesn't mean you are paralyzed and unable to move. Many people have unapparent disabilities that prevent them from being hired or working full time. It's hard enough for healthy people to get hired, but people with medical problems have little to no chance of working.

I'm back from Iraq and because of the economic situation I'm unemployed. Yes, I previously worked in the autp industry but NEVER in a union.

I have first hand knowledge of what the real situation is in Iraq and Michigan. I gather you only have misconceptions about it. I suppose being underpayed and overworked is what you'd rather see.

It's easy to view this as a handout but it's an incentive to recycle and reduce our energy usage. In Michigan they are already doing this. I got rid of an old refrigerator, a dehumidifier and air conditioner that were real energy hogs and collected $90.Sears wanted $10 to take mine away.

Michigan already has this. Creates jobs, Reduces landfill waste, Recycles resource materials (steel, aluminum, copper, R134a), saves energy

I was going to add Rollover, also. I disagree that it was a B movie. It was a main stream movie with big stars. It's as relevant today as it was in the eighties when interest rates were skyrocketing, fuel was setting records and real estate wasn't selling.
